In the DFW area there are several universities offering degrees in nutrition. Before becoming a dietitian, one must have at least a bachelor's degree in nutrition. To become a dietetic technician, an associates is needed.

Texas Woman's University in Denton
In keeping with the mission of Texas Woman's University and that of the College of Health Sciences, the faculty of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences has the primary objective to provide opportunities for the students to obtain both a liberal and professionally specialized education in nutrition, food sciences or institutional administration (food service systems) B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are offered, as well as the Didactic Program in Dietetics and the combined master's dietetic internship. University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas
The Coordinated Program in Clinical Dietetics at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas is a bachelor degree program that combines the required course work with the required 900 hours of supervised practice for eligibility to take the national registration examination for dietitians. Upon graduation, students are immediately eligible to take the national registration examination and to become active members of the American Dietetic Association.
